White Wednesday Home Tour

So.... Last week the house was ready for the Romantic Homes Photo Shoot. I took some of my own photos of some of my favorite things and wanted to share them with you.
Let me start with the dining room, this is where we all gather for dinners most nights. I used reproduction dining chairs and slip covered them in heavy oyster white linen, and arm covers, so when the boys got them dirty, they can be easily thrown into the wash.

Below is the room I set up with my favorite pieces. all is available on our website.
The perfect little boudior chair upholstered in natural linen sits in the corner of the room, as the vanity graces the opposite wall. Now as you all know, if I had a little girl, this would be her room.

As you enter the home you walk into the living room, where my favorite french chair, that I upholstered in grainsack, sits at this pretty metal table. I must have brushed on 5 coats of poly to this table, totally worth it, its a spectacular sofa table.  On the table sits one of my other favorite pieces, the catholic cross candle holder. Found this on one of my adventures, the lamps are new.
Against the wall is an authentic pier mirror from Provence. Originally there was a plant box attached to the bottom. Too tall for the this wall we removed it and just used the mirror. It leans up against the white wainscotting that my husband installed before we moved into our home. Maybe, this is one of my most favorite features of our home.

The large gray aligator painted cabinet houses my collection of old french leather bound books, and architectural elements.

The wall of oils, I love seascape oil paintings, here is a few in my collection.

As you walk down the hall, you enter into our boys rooms. Below is one the rooms that decided to stick with the seascape theme, so we custom made these headboards, with old grainsack fabric. I couldn't find any bedding that I liked for this room, so I used antique white linen metis duvets for the coverlets, and I made the blue ticking duvets as well. The bolster I also made from an old grainsack.
I found the shadow boxes, and old ship lights on one of my shopping adventures.
Loved how the room turned out. Blues are my favorite color to decorate with.

Down the hall from there you head into our master, which is still under construction. More finished photos will follow in a month or so.
The custom button tufted headboard which I had done with antique homespun linen sheets. Headboard can be purchased through our website.

Probably one of my favorite antique pieces is in this room, so pretty, so graceful is this antique roses armoire with classic authentic wedgewood plaques at the top and on each side.
It stores our TV and has plenty of storage for everything else. To me an armoire is so practicle, and functional.
In the corner next to the armoire sits my great grandmothers chair. Original was in avacado green velvet, I switched it out for white linen. Used a design from Lauren Ross' book and added the button tufted flowers.
"Hamptons" chair, this is the original, but we have put this into reproduction, soon to available on our website.
on the bed sits my favorite french blue aubusson pillow, thats all an all white bed needs
Last but not least, my favorite white carved mirror, i used it in the master bathroom, as you can see  I have a chandelier hanging in there as well.
I hope you enjoyed our home tour, and have a wonderful white wednesday.
xoxo
