Belgian Linen Ruffle Tablecloth... They're Back!

We have been asked time and time again to make these
and now they are back.
We are making them the
original way
with the 1/2" mini ruffle
and the gathered ruffled drop.

But we also are making them with a
hemmed ruffle drop,
a little less labor intensive,
and easier on the wallet.

Sometimes when I tell a client that it takes 18 yards to make
the traditional tablecloth,
their jaws will drop, that's $360 in just linen alone.
Total cost $549
Well we can make them with a hemmed top just like our
linen voile shower curtain we make, and it takes approx 15 yard of linen,
and even though that is still $300 in linen, the labor is half the price.
Total cost $395.
Basically I call it the look for less.

And if that is still a little out of reach we do offer the
poplin ruffle tablecloth
$159.00
Size is 72x72
Fits a 18" round - 42"round just beautifully

Last but not least my latest 2 creations.
I made these today with some extra fabric I had...
Sage Cabbage Roses Pillow

This blue roses and ticking pillow was made with antique lace crochet
I had from a pillowcase. This crochet is so beautiful,

White Wednesday....

Thank you for joining me this White Wednesday
hosted by Kathleen at the

I am a little late today with the posting,
but I just wanted to wish everyone a

Happy Thanksgiving
I was going to a blog post on some new items for my home I just purchased, but I didn't get a chance to because I was in the ER with my son last night. I guess with 3 boys I will never get a break, yes it was my son that broke his ankle this past February, well he broke his collar bone yesterday.
And so now I am nurse mom once again, I have to tell you, for the past 5 years one of my boys have broken something. I am constantly with one kid in a cast!

I am going to keep them wrapped up in bubble for the rest of the year!
Here are some pictures of the store yesterday,
I brought in some new inventory.
So here is my White room....

See you soon!!!

Design Styles for Everyone...

I once entered a contest to decorate the Country Living House of the Year. I was honored to be asked to enter, and even though I didn't win, it was a really fun experience.  So every year now I like to take a look and see what the designers do, what is their inspiration?  This year it seems to be very traditional. Where as prior it was a little more romantic, but with all things, style will evolve, and design styles and trends will repeat themselves in due time.

I find myself being more attracted to primitive furniture these days, I think it is the time worn patina, that weathered plank top on a farm table, or the scratches and scars on a cabinet that has been used and loved for many generations.  Like this fabulous settee that was original fabric, and original paint finish. One of my all time favorite pieces, I didn't dare change one thing about this one.

Yes I do love to give new life to furniture with a coat paint, or new upholstery, but sometimes things are better left alone. I often find myself being inspired by many other talented designers, and how they mix new with old, heavily carved with barn primitive, dark colors with white. Anything goes!!

Have you seen the Heiress collection by Ralph Lauren? A true inspiration of fabulous antique style, with luxurious and sumptuous fabrics, and classic style.  I have always taken inspiration from Ralph Lauren, his design styles are classic and timeless.

Fin!
Have a wonderful weekend.

Roses for you...and you...and you!

Lately I have been a little scattered!
I don't know if I am just playing catch-up with work,
because I was sick for two weeks?
Needless to say I am back on track, but just having a lazy Sunday.
Which is allowed every now and then, Right??
I went into my rose garden today,
it was very bare, just a few here and there,
lots of buds though,
I haven't been out there for weeks.
I was able to pluck a few good ones,
here and there.
I would like to share them all with you...

Its been so long I forget the variety these are, but they are so pretty the petals look like delicate paper with perfect shades of pinks and creams....

These darker hot pink ones are an antique rose variety....

who is going to through some difficult times,
when things are down,
the only way to go is UP!

White Wednesday

Some of you or many of you know, I have been very very sick for the past 2 weeks, I'm feeling better today, but probably should not over do it. I feel like I need to get things done, but last week I thought I was better and went to the shop to fix up the space, came home, and just about passed out. Ever since then I've been in my PJs.  I guess it's a way of my body telling me, that I need rest. But over the last month or so, I have been designing and trying to sew samples of our new products.  All linens...
These are the vintage ruffle shower curtains, or also we can make these as curtain panels.
There are so many other colors available, but I decided to keep my inventory very clean and neutral. So in order is the slate, flax, light natural, and white.
