The Best Client to have is a Friend...
When I first met Tammy & Robert, they were just looking, thinking of changing their home furnishings.
Little did Robert know we would be changing a whole house full of furniture. As my store changed, new inventory, more elegant style, Tammy wanted her home to have that same feel. So we started out with just a few changes, then a few more, and before we knew it, I was involved with a whole house remodel. Making decisions on kitchen cabinetry, paint colors, flooring, etc...
It was alot for Tammy & Robert to deal with, but I always saw the light at the end of the tunnel.
I am so happy that they both were very trusting in my decisions, from paint colors, moldings, and down to all the furnishings in the house, I paid attention to every little detail so their home would reflect who they were. The more and more I worked with them, the better we got to know each other, and the more the house evolved. We became very good friends.
Living Room
I chose a heavy white linen slip covered sectional. It fit their room the best. An old farm table was cut down to serve as coffee table, and of course my favorite accessory, a large white finger coral. French side table with marble top, a French oval mirror with perfect patina, another obsession of mine, ocean oil paintings are a must.
The pair of old french carved arm chairs, were perfect worn gold patina, we reupholstered them in an old grainsack, and added a down seat.
A stack of old New York Times Chronicles from the 1920s serves as a table next to her couch to hold her grand girandole lamp.
Of course, for the man of the house, no living room could be complete without a large flat panel TV, as much as I think they are a distraction in a room, it worked, we dressed up the mantle with more coral, and old handmade apotocary bottles, and French leatherbound books.
This gorgeous primitive cabinet houses all of the video, and stereo components, you would never know, it looks as if its just a beautiful primitive piece to hold her candle holder.
This beautiful original painted aqua bombe was a find of the century. I was going to keep it for myself, but you know how it is, we can't keep everything, and of course it was the perfect piece for Tammys entry way.
Now the dining room was a different story, I knew we needed something different, something very unusual. Tammy is just like me, we like to have something no one else has. I found 2 antique chippy fluted columns, her husband had them cut down to size, and fitted with a White Calcutta Marble top.
The parsons chairs are actual antiques from a Renaissance era, we just slip covered them in the same heavy white linen like her sofa.
The chandelier was an old french gilded piece, we brought in to finish the space.
The mirror below is a piece from a local artisan. All handmade from a fragment pediment piece.
In her kitchen we have this old iron cross fragment, from France, with a tin heart. Perfect rusted patina. A very unusual find. And of course more coral.....
At last, the boudior...
I found this magnificent bed that we converted to fit a queen size. We painted it, and gave it that antique finish. Came out just perfect....
